"State of the Academy" - Week Three

Hello Parents and Guardians,

I hope that you all continue to stay safe during this time. I cannot begin to thank you for your help in encouraging your children to continue learning, whether it be online or completing packets. We have had wonderful, and quite frankly, much better participation in distance learning that we had anticipated.

While school is winding down, I would encourage you all to not lose steam! There is important learning that still needs to occur. I ask that you continue to remind students to attend counseling sessions, zoom classrooms, and complete assignments in a timely manner. For the students, this marking period does count!

All of our students have behavior goals that they need to continue working on achieving to return to public school next year or in the future. Meetings will occur for all students prior to the closure of the year to determine placement for next year. We are hoping for some returns to us and some returns to home school environments if behavior goals have been met. If any family requests a formal meeting at this time, please reach out to me directly. I will seek to schedule those with school district representatives as quickly as possible.

Again, we will most definitely be conducting at least one more formal meeting per student before the close of the year in the upcoming weeks. If any parent or guardian would like another copy of their child's individual behavior plan to help review with their child while they are at home, please let me know, we will send one out.

Participation in counseling sessions, zoom classrooms, completion of/return of work, and parent/guardian feedback will be some of our methods to guide the team's decisions in future transitions for our students.

Please contact me, Mrs. Williams, by sending a message to me directly on Jupiter Ed or call me during my office hours (M-F 9am to 5pm) at 484-387-2036.

Lastly, I will be sending out information in the coming days about how we plan to celebrate our students and the end of the year. For all of the year's Compass Academy has been serving students we have held an awards ceremony to close our school year. We WILL find some way to honor this tradition. More to come later.

Thank you all for everything you do!

Mrs. Willaims
